I've always wanted to paint something big. This Spring, I was given the opportunity to show in a large space with extra tall Victorian walls. So I set out to make a 60" by 60" painting with four canvases.  I often paint outside. This proved a little tricky since it took two people to move the painting inside and out of the studio. When finished, the title came to me via a Chinese fortune cookie. How fortunate!

Here's me hanging my painting. It will be on show at Enso in Nelson BC, from now until the end of June. Opening reception is Friday night May 22nd from 7pm to 10pm. Hope to see you there.

J'ai toujours voulu peindre un grand tableau. Ce printemps j'ai eu l'opportunité de faire un vernissage dans une espace avec de grands murs de l'époque Victorienne. J'ai donc décidée de peindre une toile de 60" x 60". Le titre m'est venu par biscuit Chinois. Quelle chance!

I framed this artwork for myself. I am glad I did. Everytime I see it I am reminded how I love working with colour, transparency and texture. It inspires me to get into the studio and create some more.
