Charcoal, graphite, pastel & acrylic. Part of the EMOTIONS painting series inspired by Gustave Flaubert's novel Madame Bovary. The novel takes place in 19th century provincial France and follows Emma Bovary's adulterous life. Through layering of mark making and paint strokes I record a series of moments in time. Like a sort of visual poetry. I create an imaginary world reminiscent of Provincial France, emotions, my French culture and surroundings. READ MORE

I framed this artwork for myself. I am glad I did. Everytime I see it I am reminded how I love working with colour, transparency and texture. It inspires me to get into the studio and create some more.
